Interface

Midnight changed the addon landscape more than it changed your class. Do this before you touch gear.

WeakAuras is over — this is the addon author's position, not a hot takeSecret Values blocked WeakAuras combat logic in 12.0, and 12.1's filtered APIs still don't restore it. The team called the changes fundamentally incompatible and stepped away from retail. Don't go looking for a Holy Paladin WA pack. There isn't a current one, and anything you find is a War Within fossil.

Step 1 · Blizzard's own kit

Free, already installed, and where Method's 12.1 interface page starts. Do this before adding a single addon.

Cooldown Manager is the WeakAuras replacementThe stock version is rough, but it's what makes the game readable again post-12.0. Configure it for Holy Shock charges, Infusion of Light, Avenging Wrath and Divine Toll. The addons below only reskin it — they don't replace it.

Step 2 · Addons that still work

AddonPriorityWhy
EllesmereUIFirstFull UI suite. 12.1 added in-combat damage meters, rewritten chat, overhauled aura and buff reminders, granular debuff filtering on nameplates and raid frames.
Ellesmere's Beacon RemindersFirstLightweight; reminds you to apply Beacons. Purpose-built for you.
BigWigs + LittleWigsFirstBoss timers, raid and dungeon. Still functioning.
CliqueHighClick-casting on raid frames. Biggest healer quality-of-life upgrade there is.
Details!HighDamage and healing meter. Who ate the swirl.
DandersFramesHighRaid frame customization — Method's current pick.
PlaterHighNameplates. Method recommends it for 12.1.
Arc UIMediumSkins and extends the Cooldown Manager.
TargetedSpellsMediumShows who enemy casts are aimed at.
SenseiClassResourceBarMediumReadable Holy Power bar.
RoutineOptionalWeekly and daily tracker.
QE LiveOptionalNot an addon — a browser tab. Healer gear and vault comparisons.
Verify Grid2 and Harrek's Advanced Raid Frames are the classic alternatives to DandersFrames — all three do the same job, so pick one rather than installing three. Whether Grid2 and Harrek's have shipped 12.1-compatible builds is not something I confirmed; check the CurseForge "Game Version" tag before installing.
